Originally built in 1977, the former Peace Centre and Peace Mansion encompassed 319 strata units, including 232 commercial units, 86 apartments, and a 162-space car park. The buildings consisted of a 10-storey front podium block and a 32-storey tower at the rear, covering a total area of 76,617 square feet designated for commercial use under the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) 2019 Master Plan, with a gross plot ratio of 7.89. In March 2019, the Singapore Land Authority granted preliminary approval to renew the site’s lease for another 99 years, allowing for redevelopment up to a height of 55 meters, with certain portions potentially reaching up to 67 meters.
According to the URA’s 2019 outline planning permission, the redevelopment of One Sophia can maintain the existing gross floor area of approximately 604,578 square feet and is envisioned as a mixed-use project with 60% commercial and 40% residential
space.
